R&A Equipment Test Centre

The project brief was to detail, produce full connection design, fabricate, supply and install a 90 tonne structural steel frame and full staircase for a new equipment test centre at Kingsbarns Golf Links, St Andrews.

The Queensferry Hotel

Glen-fab were appointed to detail, produce full connection design, fabricate, shot blast and paint, and erect the 153 tonne steel frame for The Queensferry Hotel Double Tree by Hilton. Further to this we are providing the full Metalwork package, cold rolled purlins and all associated secondary steelwork, including a helical stair and 3 new steelwork stairs for 5 floors, for the construction of the bedroom extension, guest entrance extension and alterations to the existing restaurant.

Diageo

Glen-Fab have been involved in the expansion programme at Diageo on all three sites over the last five years.

Cameron Bridge has seen process building totaling 600T and pipe bridge works of 250T. The Banbeath site at Leven has seen 5000 M of pipe bridges erected around through and over the existing plant. The new Bottling Hall has been fitted out with 40T of conveyor support steel, Mild Steel handrails and Stainless Steel rails to the main access stairs.

The new Boiler house project for Dalkea is located at the West end of Cameron Bridge site. On this site we have supplied The new Turbine building ( 100T) and all the main service pipe bridges which total 200T. In addition we have carried out the supply and fixing of all the secondary steel on the 40M high boiler house.

We have also supplied the industrial metalwork throughout the site.

G West Gleneagles

Glen-Fab is happy to be appointed as the steel contractor for the prestigious G West golf club at Gleneagles

The steel frame (shown below) is a beam and column frame of some 180T topped with a 6M high dome. The new Golf Course at G West is ready to play and the club house is now well under way. The site shall also see a seven star hotel and a number of of executive villas. The site is to the south of the Gleneagles hotel and commands spectacular views over the Perthshire countryside.

Crookfur Primary School

Crookfur Primary School Refurbishment and Extension, Newton Mearns

For this project we were contracted by Heron Bros to produce detailed fabrication drawings, supply and install 46 tonnes of steel for the extension, link corridor and water tower.

Couper Street, Leith, Edinburgh

Glen-fab were contracted to detail, produce full connection design, fabricate, supply and install a 94 tonne structural steel frame for this 8 floor apartment block, including a stairwell, lift shaft and associated metalwork.

PSI, Dalgety Bay

Glen-fab provided full connection design, supplied, fabricated, painted and erected the 15 tonne portal frame which is to be PSI’s new production building for our client Cameron Harris.

Invitrogen Glasgow

Glen-Fab have now completed two high specification refurbishments for Invitrogen in Glasgow.

Working for ETDE we have now completed two refurbishments for Invitrogens new Head Offices.

The first unit had a major over hall. Anew first floor was fitted over the full area with a striking oval void and matching sky light.

The South four bays had the existing roof removed and a double story office block constructed. The building was fitted with helical stairs internally and galvanised spiral stairs externally.

This contract was a full Design and Build order. Glen-Fab carried out the Ground works and Civils together with the steel and cladding package.

Port Glasgow

This is the latest collaboration between Glen-Fab and Malcolm Robertson is now a world respected Artist based in Fife. His works are to be found all over Glenrothes from his days as the town artist.

The ship is to be sited overlooking the Clyde in Port Glasgow. Fabricated with a profiled plate base the hull is formed from CHS rolled tubes. Glen-Fabs highly skilled blacksmiths team are nearing completion with the installation completed in late March. This latest art work reinforces Glen-Fabs reputation for fine art fabrication.
